Consultation on statistics that measure the progress of children from disadvantaged backgrounds to higher education

The government has an ongoing interest in monitoring the educational achievement of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with a view to narrowing the gap in achievement between disadvantaged youngsters and their peers. The "Full-time young participation by socio-economic class (FYPSEC)" statistic has been published annually in an Official Statistics release produced by the Higher Education Analysis division of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). The consultation relates to changes to this publication.
