Measurement Uncertainty (supported by the BMTA)
One of the requirements for the accreditation of testing and calibration laboratories is the estimation of measurement uncertainty. NMO is providing two courses (Introduction and Advanced) associated with uncertainty estimation. They are aimed at people working in testing and or calibration laboratories who are, or will be, involved in the estimation of measurement uncertainty. The courses are supported by the British Measurement and Testing Association, with a 10% discount available to BMTA members.
Average Quantity Control Systems
Weights & Measures Inspectors, packers and importers need to understand in more detail the requirement in the average quantity control systems regulations, section 4(1) associated with Packaged Goods.
The course will cover quantity control by sampling and quantity control using checkweighers, taking into account the UK and WELMEC guidance available.
This course is designed for Weights & Measures Inspectors, packers and importers and is being run at three venues; Teddington, East Kilbride and West Yorkshire.
Verification of Fuel Dispensers
A one-day course, aimed at Weights & Measures Inspectors, Manufacturers and Approved Verifiers, will be held in Teddington to cover the legal, metrological and technical aspects associated with the verification of fuel dispensers. The course will provide a combination lectures and practical exercises and will support the development/maintenance of competency for people conducting this activity.
