Starting out: your employment rights and responsibilities

BIS has produced a DVD teaching resource designed primarily for key stage 4 students (14 -16 year olds) to raise awareness of their employment rights and responsibilities. It covers: basic employment rights; discrimination issues; information sources; work experience; health and safety; and workplace bullying.

The DVD contains 20 work-place scenarios performed by professional actors linked to six 60-minute lesson plans with supporting worksheets. It will be of particular interest to teachers with responsibilities for teaching the PSHE and Citizenship curriculum, and those preparing students for the world of work, including work experience.
